Call for Posters PDF Version

The IIT’15 Student Posters and Demos Committee invites all undergraduate and graduate students to submit an extended abstract to display a poster at the IIT’15. The poster topic should fall within the conference’s theme and tracks

Purpose

The main purpose of this Student Posters and Demos session is to:

1. Recognize students and give them the opportunity to:
   • Practice their visual, written, and oral communication skills in a professional conference environment
   • Share their research/project work with students and faculty from other institutions
2. Improve the visibility of students' efforts
3. Recognize excellence in students' projects

Important Dates

Student Poster (Extended Abstract) Submission	July 15, 2015 (closed)
Notification of Student Poster acceptance	from September 09, 2015
Camera ready Extended Abstract and Poster material	September 29, 2015

Instructions For Final Submission

1. Revised version of the Extended Abstract:

   • We will need the WORD document of your Extended Abstract for English grammar and/or usage editing. Please revise your Extended Abstract according to the template available here.
   • The FINAL WORD document should be submitted to nalqirim@uaeu.ac.ae on the specified deadline above
   • All students are encouraged to review their revised abstracts with their faculty advisors prior to submission.
   • All accepted abstracts will be published in IIT’15 proceedings.
2. Poster
• To prepare your poster, please refer to the attached poster submission guidelines.
• The final electronic version of your poster should be submitted to nalqirim@uaeu.ac.ae on the specified deadline above.
• All students are encouraged to review their poster with their faculty advisors prior to submission.
• IIT'15 will print all posters professionally and display them in the poster venue ready for the authors.

Registration

• No registration fee will be charged for all accepted abstracts.
• Fill in the registration form and email it to the chair (nalqirim@uaeu.ac.ae) within the specified deadline for registration on the conference’s web site.
• Filling the registration form is a commitment and confirmation to attend the conference. Please notify us immediately if you cannot make it to the conference for any reason.
• In case of group of students presenting one poster, each student should fill the registration form separately.

Awards

This year, there will be a competition for best student poster award at IIT’15. This award will be given to recognize student excellence in research and presentation.

All accepted posters will be eligible for nomination for this award providing they meet the requirements and guidelines for student poster session as described on the website. The presentations should consist of well-prepared materials about the work, posted on a designated board. It is required that an author should be registered for the conference and in attendance to present details and answer questions during the designated session time. Since the award will be made at the session, it is recommended that the authors be present for the majority of the session.

A Poster Award Committee will review all of the extended abstracts and the posters. Selections will mainly be based on the level of innovativeness, research, final output, quality of the poster, and clarity of the presentation. Visa

If you come from a country requires prior entry visa, please download the visa application form, fill it and email it along with a copy of your passport to: nalqirim@uaeu.ac.ae.

Travel Plan

All overseas students should plan their travel arrangements to be in the conference earlier on and to be present at least two (2) hours before the poster/demos session starts to prepare their presentations.

• To make the arrangement work easy for us, please plan to forward the following files all together in one email by 01 September 2015:

  • Registration form
  • Revised Extended Abstract (Word Format)
  • Final version of the Poster (PDF format)
  • Visa Application Form and Passport copies (overseas students only)
