Call for Tutorials
Innovations 2014 invites submissions for half-day tutorial proposals. This year’s theme is “Big Data Analytics”. Attendees include senior undergraduate students, graduate students and researchers from academia and industry in the field of IT. Topics covered in the tutorials may include, but not limited to the following:
- Big Data management and retrieval
- Privacy and security of Big Data
- Analysis and modeling of Big Data
- Data mining techniques for Big Data
- Big Data in the Enterprise: Network design considerations
- Big Data Computer Systems
- Data warehousing and information integration
One tutorial presenter will be granted a round-trip ticket from his/her country of residence to the UAE, a 3 night stay at a hotel in Al Ain, free transportation from and to the airport within UAE and free full Innovations 2014 registration package.
Submission details
- The title and abstract of the tutorial
- A brief a summary of the scope and depth of the tutorial showing that the tutorial’s core content can be covered in (3-4 hour) time slot.
- A description of the main learning outcomes and its relevance to IT-Innovations 2014. Also, state the targeted audience and the technical background assumed.
- The names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses of the tutorial instructors, including one-paragraph statement of their research interests and areas of expertise.
- A list of previous events with the approximate audience sizes, if the same or a similar tutorial has been given elsewhere.
- The submission should be No More then 4 pages
Proposals must be submitted before the deadline via e-mail to the tutorial chair, Dr. Ahmed Al-Faresi at ahmed.alfaresi@uaeu.ac.ae. The Technical Program Committee of the conference will evaluate all proposals. Selection will be based on the quality of the proposal, relevance and timeliness of the subject.

- Notification of acceptance of proposals October 8, 2014
- Submission of final tutorial material October 15, 2014
- Conference November 9-11, 2014
