The 2004 International Research Conference on Innovations in Information Technology (IIT2004) is an annual event held in Dubai, UAE in coordination with GITEX (http://www.gitex.com/main.html ). In 2003, a total of 1703 companies were represented at GITEX with 774 exhibits from 41 countries, including 23 country pavilions. The total number of visitors to GITEX in 2003 was 75,642. The IIT2004 conference is jointly organized by the UAE University, Dubai e-Government and GITEX Exhibit. The conference will have tutorials/workshops in collaboration with leading IT companies.

IIT2004 conference includes:
  • One-day of International Workshops: This event will serve as a platform for industry to present emerging technologies and technology roadmaps. These workshops are of the 2-3 hour variety and are focused on current topics of interest to the IT community. Executives, managers and students will have the opportunity to learn about the latest technologies from a layman’s perspective.

  • Two-day International Conference: This event constitutes a traditional research conference. Quality papers will be solicited and selected for presentation and publication on a competitive basis. The conference will also include student poster sessions, providing students the opportunity to present their IT projects.

Topics of Interest

The conference topics include, but are not limited to the following:
  • The Latest Innovations in IT and Applications including: Network and Information Security, Information Systems Integration, Internet and Communication Technologies, Web Engineering and Applications, E-Commerce Architectures, Artificial and Intelligent Systems, TQM (Total Quality Management), Knowledge and Content Management, Data Mining Techniques and Knowledge Discovery, Indexing and Search Technologies, Enterprise Resource Planning, VLSI Chip Design and Test Technologies, Computer Networks, Supply Chain Management, Software Engineering, Decision Support Systems, Neural Networks, E-Government Strategies and Implementations, Wireless Technologies, Information Legal Issues, Business Process Modeling, Nano-Computing, Best Practices of IT Implementation in Public/Private Organizations, The Role of IT in Improving Management Practices, and Research Collaboration with Regional and International Institutions.

  • Technical Workshops, Tutorials, and Demos (by Professionals from the IT Industry): Networking Technologies, Database Management Systems, The Electronic Learning Community, Business Process Modeling, and others.

Submissions and Publication Guidelines

We prefer that all submissions are made online via the conference website (http://www.it-innovations.ae/access.php). Otherwise, they can be emailed to radaideh@uaeu.ac.ae. Authors are required to self-register in order to be able to log into the system and submit their manuscripts.

  • Papers: The IIT2004 Program Committee invites authors to submit papers in the above topic areas. Full papers are preferred, however, extended abstracts (2 pages) will be processed through the review process, given that authors will submit their full papers after the first review cycle. The maximum page limit for camera-ready papers is TEN pages. (Download the IIT2004 Template Manuscript)

  • Tutorials: Proposals are invited for high-quality two-hour tutorials. A tutorial proposal should include a description of the tutorial, the full name and address of the tutorial speaker(s), and the speaker(s) biography.

  • Student Posters: Special sessions are devoted to students to present their IT projects.

Quality papers will be considered for publication in special issues of the following journals:

 Individual Participants  US$325 per participant. (US$425 for late registration - after August 20)
 Group Participants  US$800 per group (3 persons per group).
 Workshop Attendees  US$125 per person per two workshops (half-day).
 Student Registration  US$80 per student poster.
